Last Saturday morning we learned of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the area of Kathmandu, Nepal impacting the lives of all of those living in Nepal and its neighboring countries, destroying sacred temples, and triggering avalanches on Mt. Everest.
Unfortunately, this devastating earthquake hits close to home for Avionté, as nearly 40 of our employees reside in the area of Kathmandu, and many of our U.S.-based employees call Nepal their home, and have family and friends living in the area.
We have received word that our entire Nepal team has been accounted for safe and sound, along with their families, which is a great relief. Members of the Nepal team have told us that they are still shaken and scared, and most are living outside in makeshift tent cities due to the severe and numerous aftershocks that are continuing to happen in the region.
We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of support we have received from our clients. We will be doing what we can to help our employees and their families in the coming days, weeks and months, including sending over supplies and a donation for their relief efforts. We will also be setting up a GoFundMe fundraising account to collect donations, and will provide information about how to donate through that account as soon as it is active.
In the meantime, if you’d like to help, please send us an email at ahf@avionte.com.
Be sure to keep up with us on the Avionte Staffing Software Facebook page.
