On August 2, 2018, Avionté Staffing and Recruiting Software started the second day of their annual user conference, CONNECT with breakfast in the Great River Ballroom followed by an address from Chief Executive Officer, Karl Florida.
Florida spoke to Avionté’s commitment of being a true partner in innovation, sharing the company’s vision and focus on accelerated innovation for the future. Florida then welcomed Kevin Frick, Chairman at Avionté and a partner of Serent Capital. Frick has a long track record of working with CEOs and their management teams to help their companies achieve their full potential.
Next up, Jami Klotz, Vice President of Product Management, and Pete Jacoby, Chief Technology Officer, spoke during the Avionté Technology Summit. During the Technology Summit, Klotz and Jacoby discussed upcoming initiatives, the product roadmap and the foundation of technology at Avionté.
Klotz started by sharing a year in a review, giving a glimpse into all the major features and functionality released since the previous conference. Milestone releases included E-Signature Documents powered by Adobe Sign, AVI, the Avionté Virtual Instructor, the full Paperless Mobile Onboarding solution and Spanish and French availability on the Job Board and Talent Modules. From there – she shared the Avionté future roadmap and the product vision into 2019.
For day two, Tom Erb, President of Tallann Resources, gave the keynote speech focusing on how to drive staffing success with technology. After going through a brief history of recruiting technology, Erb touched on some of the pitfalls of technology in staffing. After adopting new recruiting technology, businesses can often become dependent on it, losing effectiveness and forgetting how to recruit. Erb is one of the industry’s top subject matter experts in the staffing and recruiting industry. As an executive for two of the largest staffing companies and more than 20 years of industry experience, Erb has helped hundreds of firms create and execute sales and recruiting strategies to grow their business.
During his keynote, Erb spoke to how important it is to reach out to talent in a way they will actually respond. He shared a stat that it takes 22 phone calls to get someone to respond, and read rates for emails are only 20% in the first two minutes versus 98% of texts. That’s why there is a significant push for texting technology for candidate communication currently.
Additionally Erb spoke to several technologies that help with sourcing and recruiting, candidate engagement and gamification. With staffing and recruiting technology evolving at a rapid pace, Erb said that evaluating various technologies should be a frequent part of every staffing leader’s role.
After Erb finished his keynote, everyone gathered in the Minnesota Grand Ballroom for the annual CONNECT group photo before heading out to various roundtable and breakout sessions. Sessions on Thursday afternoon focused on compliance, roadmap initiatives, E-Signature Documents powered by Adobe Sign and much more.
Just like the first day, the Great River Court room also had representatives from nearly every Avionté department to help with technical questions, product questions, implementation questions and much more. Additionally, clients were able to browse and talk to more than 15 Avionté partners in the atrium level outside of the Minnesota Grand Ballroom.
To officially wrap up the event, clients, partners and employees went on two, connected Padelford Riverboats up and down the Mississippi River. One of the Riverboats had a DJ on the lower deck and an open view of the sunset on the upper deck. The other Riverboat was decorated in a casino theme, with multiple tables where attendees could play their hand at poker and blackjack. The Riverboats docked at 10:30 p.m., with the festivities officially wrapping up at 11:30 p.m.
