Sandwich Prep for Allan Law – October
In mid October, Allan Law, the founder of the 363 Days Food Program (Minneapolis Recreation Development Inc.), came by to pick up the nearly 750 sandwiches that our employees prepared. For the past six years, the 363 Days Food Program has distributed more than 600,000 sandwiches annually, put together by over 8,000 individual volunteers. What an incredible thing to be involved in! 2nd Annual Client Costume Contest – October
For the second year in a row, Avionte presented a Halloween challenge to clients. Clients were told to send a photo of themselves or their team in a Halloween costume and submit it for one of our categories. Congratulations to the four contest winners – all of whom received a $500 check to give to the charity of their choosing! See the winners here.
Volunteering with Free Bikes 4 Kidz – November
On Friday, November 6th, a dozen Dev members spent the afternoon straightening handlebars, changing tires, and adjusting gears for Free Bikes 4 Kidz, a non-profit organization designed to help kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. The team had a ton of fun! Read about the organization and the experience here.
Give to the Max Day at Avionte – November
Each year in November, Give to the Max Day happens in Minnesota. All charity donations made to charities featured in the “match” area of the GiveMN website, GiveMN.org, were matched by GiveMN! This year, we asked employees to submit a charity/nonprofit of their choice to the Avionté Hope Committee with a story of why the charity mattered to them. Then, each Avionté employee put their 50 “Avionté Hope dollars” into the envelopes of the charities they wanted to back. Find out which charities we donated to this year here.
