A long holiday weekend may be good for the soul, but may not yield the same positive results for staffing metrics.
Due to the short holiday week, we’ll be covering both week 26 and week 27 in this edition of RAW.
For those new to the Avionté RAW series, the numbers reflected are based on an aggregation of hosted Avionté data from hundreds of customers across the US and Canada.
Week 26: Generally positive week, with hours, gross and billing being up modestly but assignments were slightly down.
Week 27: Holiday week numbers are always a little frightening at first glance – Hours down 16.1%! But let’s look at some brief historical comparisons. With Independence Day consistently falling on week 27, it makes it easy to see how 2020 stacked up to previous years.
27 vs 26: Holiday vs previous week
28 vs 27: Historical bounce back from Holiday to a full week.
28 vs 26: Historical two-week window.
In comparison to previous years, hours for 2020 are looking solid. The assumption is that most businesses only observed Independence Day on July 3rd as opposed to also decreasing hours on July 6th. The bounce back for previous years was substantial, so I am optimistic that we’ll continue the trend and experience a strong week 28 for 2020 as well. Tune in next week!
Here are the full numbers for the week.
