Week 41 staffing industry data shows a positive but not spectacular week, with all the major indices showing solid positive gains. I’m particularly interested in the substantial growth in Gross Payroll, leading the way with a 2.5% gain. With this being an “off” week, I was expecting a slightly negative turn in the staffing industry Week-over-Week gains.
This week’s staffing industry statistics: Week 41
I took out the 4-week growth numbers for this week, as it would have been based on the short Labor Day week. But look at the staffing industry YTD growth in Assignments, Hours, Gross, and Total Billing!
For me, I think it is particularly noteworthy how much more Gross payroll has grown versus Hours, supporting a significant overall increase in mean pay rates. With Billing growing as well, this indicates that margins have held, if not grown. I find these attributes exciting as underpinnings for substantial Contingent Workforce growth for the short and mid-term at least.
