Controller

The Controller will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, efficiency, and adequate internal control over all financial systems and reports. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role will play a critical part in financial planning, reporting, and decision-making. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting expertise, strategic thinking, and team management skills.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Leadership:
  • Manage and develop the Accounting Team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Establish and maintain accounting structure, staffing, and operational priorities.
Operational:
  • Oversee daily accounting functions: invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, treasury, procurement, and general ledger.
  • Ensure timely, accurate monthly closes and cash flow forecasting.
  • Research and resolve technical accounting issues.

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Develop and deliver detailed financial reporting packages, including dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
 
Internal Controls:
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee tax compliance, including payroll, sales, property, and income tax filings.
  • Ensure compliance with debt covenants and regulatory reporting requirements.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a high-growth environment or SaaS/technology company preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
